Did you know pistachio means “happy nut” in China? Turn a pistachio on its side, and it looks like it’s smiling! The Chinese also gifted pistachios as a sign of happiness, health, and prosperity during the Chinese New year — what an honor! Fun fact: while the panda’s diet is mainly composed of bamboo, he also loves pistachios as a tasty treat since they are sweet and crispy.

In India, people believe pistachios can warm the body during cold winter months and consider pistachios a “hot food.” During the Hindu New Year, they also give pistachios as a symbol of love and good wishes. Pistachios = positivity!
